The Kombucha that I started last Wednesday, seems to have mould forming on the top, so I decided to throw it all away. i then sterilised a new jar and made a fresh batch. I used the same recipe as last week.
14 Aug 2023. 4pm Facebook Water Kefir
When I tasted the water kefir after starting it the other day, it didn’t seem to taste any different. I’m not sure the grains are alive so I’m doing a full reset by changing the water every day and making a fresh batch for 5-7 days.
It’s day 3 today. I thought I had 3 tbsp of grains and was using an equal amount sugar but I weighed them and there’s 44g of grains so I used 48g (simply because it went over when I added it to the scales and I couldn’t be bothered to remove 3g) sugar in a 1pt jar.

Milk kefir batch made. The other spent a few days in the fridge, so I didn’t taste it. until I stirred it, it was so thick that a chopstick could stand up in the middle of it I tipped it away, I didn’t rinse it but made a new batch with the organic whole milk
